Smartphone and mobile technology is wonderful. As a parent or caregivers you may have used your smartphone to educate and engage your children, and yes, to distract them in trying situations. Youth librarians have been working on a way to tap into this technology and the latest release is the ACPL Family APP .

This fun, free app was created by the Allen County Public LIbrary and was designed for parents of children from birth through elementary. It includes video and audio activities showing ways to incorporate reading, talking, singing, playing, and writing into every day. You can sign up to receive a weekly early literacy tip or use the reading timer and log to keep track you your child’s reading. Are you looking for a great book on potty training for your toddler? Search the booklist section for more suggestions. Check out this free app and bring the library to where you are.
